Abstract

News headlines are an integral part of the linguistic system in the age of journalism. The political news headlines has become one of the sources in exchange of opinions. The language of news headlines is the phrase, sentence, or linguistic structure that summarizes ​​the topic idea, as it is a mirror that reflects events and conveys feelings.
Chinese media receives great attention for the information they provide in politics, which reflected in the language used in news headlines. The language of Chinese news headlines is divided into many types and employs many linguistic styles, Such as the following four levels: phonetic, grammatical, rhetorical, and vocabulary.
This study aims, in light of linguistics, to identify the linguistic styles used in the Chinese political news headlines in the (People's Daily) in 2023. The study relies on the applied and analytical approach to monitor the most prominent linguistic styles used in the newspaper.
